“To this day, no individual has affected my passion for music as much as Ms. Peng has.”

— Jiale

“When I approached Ms. Peng about teaching piano to my 8 year old son, who has Asperger’s/High Functioning Autism, she did not balk at the prospect, as some teachers had, but rather took it upon herself to research the best methods for teaching students with his neurological disorder. She designed an effective lesson format and established procedures from the very first lesson that would allow him to learn and improve to his best ability, in a comfortable and nurturing environment. His previous teachers had done their best to work with him, but with Ms. Peng, my son excelled and achieved greater skills with fewer conflicts and at a faster rate. She is upbeat and positive, smiles when offering suggestions for improvement, and does a great job of coordinating the theory with the performance lessons, which I believe makes the students better musicians in general. A year and a half later, my son absolutely ADORES her, even though she has high standards for performance and is exacting about technique, and he has progressed through several levels in his piano books. You cannot find a better teacher or a more committed and caring person than Ms. Yan Eva Peng. I recommend her highly!”

“There were a lot of opportunities for me to perform in front of people - that boosts my presentation/performance skills which will really help me in the future. I also learned a lot of theory. Finally, we were given opportunities to do duets.”

“Liam came in the middle of the school year because his other teacher left the state. It was incredible how fast he adjusted to the new teaching method. His skills also improved in a very short time and I think his interest in music grew more.”

“Lucas progressed very quickly because Ms. Peng makes the lessons so fun and enjoyable. He was an award winner in a piano competition and received 5 points in the National Federation of Music Clubs. This was all possible because Ms. Peng focuses on teaching the importance of practice and technique. Lucas loves making beautiful music and performing at recitals. She really taught him how to enjoy and appreciate music.”

We had searched for almost a year for the right piano teacher for our son, who had been declined by a few piano teachers as he was “difficult” or had attention/focus deficiency. We finally found Mrs. Eva Peng and she is an amazing piano teacher for my son. My son is very energetic and has a hard time focusing (let alone sit still for a period of time), but Mrs. Eva was able to teach him piano while instilling the love for music. She focuses not only on playing the piano and reading notes but also on the theory and the core foundation of the hand’s technicality. She is so patient with him as he sometimes loses focus and becomes frustrated with himself. She finds ways to make lessons fun while challenging him. In the past year, he has participated in district and state-level piano competitions and the National Federation of Music Clubs. He scored well in all his piano competitions, earning top marks, thanks to Mrs. Eva hard work and dedication to her student. More importantly, she really enforces the love of music overall into his life. I see him come home from school and practice piano on this own, sometimes trying to create his own music piece, and even recreating tunes he has heard. Thank you Bellus Music Studio!
