Events for Our Students

Sharing music-making skills with others in a positive environment promotes a love of music making and inspires students. Toward further this goal, we offer our students numerous music-making opportunities throughout the year.

Recitals

The Bellus Music Studio holds several recitals throughout the year for students to share their work. These events include a winter recital and a spring recital as well as several themed recitals around holidays like Halloween and Independence Day.

Our students also have opportunities to participate in recitals sponsored by local music teacher groups and other community organizations.

Masterclasses

Several times each year, we hold masterclasses by special guests. These guests share their expertise on a special topic in music history, performance, or music theory.

Guest instructors provide unique perspectives on music making. Some topics explored in these classes include composition, the life experiences of famous composers throughout history, and improvisation at the keyboard.

Competitions and Exams

From competitions and festivals to standardized exams, students are offered a wide range of assessment activities to engage them in their studies. These events include state-wide competitions and examinations conducted by the Royal Conservatory of Music and Trinity College.

Advanced students are encouraged to participate in these types of events for personal inspiration and to track their musical progress.
